Welcome to Cyber Aware Africa
We are a not-for-profit organisation offering free cyber awareness to vulnerable children, young adults and digital technologies novices so they have safe and positive experiences online. Cyber Aware Africa ensures children and vulnerable people are informed consumers of digital technologies like the internet, safe enough to explore the cyberspace (internet) without fear of abuse such as sex predation, child pornography, cyberbullying, identity thefts, scams and smart enough to know what to do if they see inappropriate content online.
We work alongside a team of highly trained professionals in the ICT industry who are passionate about empowering young and vulnerable people to be part of the solution in the fast-moving environment of the digital world revolution, by equipping them with the appropriate digital awareness for the sustainable technological development of cyber Sub-Saharan Africa.
Our programmes are 100% dependent on donations from well-wishers, charity organisations, government support initiatives and cooperate companies CSR support.

Digital and Safeguarding : Cyber Mother, Digital Child
Digital technologies are advancing so fast and the adoption rate is rocketing, even by children. These new trends also expose vulnerable women and children to new cyber threats such as online sex predators, child pornography, cyberbullying, scams, and cyber fraud from cyberspace. Mothers and women without digital skills or cyber awareness can’t protect themselves and their families from these cyber evils and are also at risk of losing their jobs to digital technologies. All these put immense pressure on women and so the need to empower them to learn the technological trends and their opportunities. Through this activity, cyber awareness in women to understand how to ensure their children use digital technologies in a safe way will be raised. Women will also be introduced to new opportunities in digital technologies and how these technologies can be effectively utilized in an entrepreneurial way to increase their competitiveness and gender inclusion.$0.00 donated -

I am an O-level (Lower Secondary) dropout. I have a salon business where I work. I am married with 5 children. Due to the pandemic, I had to close my business as I had to follow the COVID-19 SOP guidelines as stated by the minister of Health. I had to stay home without working because I could not access my customers as it was earlier on. I have a smartphone and I have used the internet before on WhatsApp. I am interested in the WIT program because I would like to know more about e-business and how to expand my business online by learning how to advertise and market my hairstyles and products to many customers.
WiT gives me a chance to expand my businessI am a single mother to 2 children who have managed to provide them with their basic needs through doing laundry works in my community. I have never attended or gotten any formal education. On top of the laundry business, I was working as a waitress at a local bar to earn a little extra income for my family. Due to the pandemic and the lockdown, my customers reduced, the bar that I used to work at was closed leaving me with no source of income, I don’t have a smartphone and have never used the internet. I would like to learn more about technology because I think it will help me learn more about smartphones and help me connect to many customers in order to deliver my services at their convenience, through the WIT program.
I never went to school, but am ready for TechnologyI dropped out of school after my O’Level and got married thereafter. I have been selling Bushera (Porridge and Porridge Flour) for a living till COVID-19 came. My only source of income was shut down and I had to stay home every day for the whole day taking care of my over-demanding children. I have never used a smartphone before, I don’t know what you are now calling social media, internet and have never used them before. I am interested in the WiT Training because for the first time I will get the opportunity to use a smartphone, which can help me expand my Bushera business. I would also like to be taught how to manage my business with technology
Am a food vendor, this is my WiT interestI am a mother to 3 children I obtained an undergraduate degree in education. I am a teacher at a primary school in Kampala and I am a leader in the Serene Parenting women's group that does different projects, such as soap making, baking, and many others. Due to the outbreak of COVID 19 and the lockdown that came after, we were forced to close down, I also lost my main source of income as schools were closed. It has become hard to make ends meet. I have a smartphone and have used the internet, I am interested in the WIT program because I want to learn how to use different social media platforms and technology to be able to carry out online classes and to download reading materials for my students.
I am a Teacher, and this is why I joined WiT
